3D product view

A 3D product view for Shopify,
from one product photo.

sameface turns the photo on your product page into a 3D product model: a GLB file added to the product's media. Shopify's own viewer lets shoppers turn it, and on a phone its AR button places it in their room. $1.50 USD per 360 view.

What is a 3D product view on Shopify?

In sameface it is called a 360 view. It is a 3D model of your product, saved as a GLB file and published to the product's media, beside the photos already there. On the product page, Shopify shows it in its own 3D viewer, so a shopper can turn it round. On a phone, Shopify's AR button places it in the shopper's room.

sameface makes the model from one photo: the one already on your product page. Nothing new has to be photographed or uploaded.

How to make a 3D product model

  1. Pick the product. Choose it from your Shopify catalog. Its product photo is the source.
  2. Choose a 360 view. The price, $1.50 USD, shows before you run it.
  3. Check the model all the way round. The back is drawn from the front photo, not photographed, so compare it with the real product.
  4. Publish it, or leave it. Nothing goes live until you choose. A published model is added to the product's media; your photos stay where they are.

Which products suit a 3D view

Because the back is drawn from the front photo, a 360 view suits simple shapes: lamps, vases, mugs, chairs and other objects with a simple silhouette. A product whose back looks different from its front, or that carries detail only on the back, is a poor fit, because that side was never in the photo.

For clothing, jewelry and skincare, AI product photography and AI model photos usually show more. The home and furniture guide shows a lamp in a room scene and where a 360 view fits in the gallery.

What a 360 view costs

Each 360 view is $1.50 USD. It is always paid: the 15 free images for new merchants cover photos, not 360 views. There is no monthly fee. Paid results start only after you approve a Shopify usage subscription, with a default cap of $100 USD; the cap is a limit, not a payment. See all prices and conditions.

Questions merchants ask

Is the back of the 3D model accurate?

The back is generated from the front photo, so it can differ from the real product. Turn the model all the way round and compare it with the product before you publish it.

Where do shoppers see the 3D model?

On the product page, in Shopify's own 3D viewer, next to your photos. On a phone, Shopify's AR button places it in the shopper's room.

Do the 15 free images include a 360 view?

No. A 360 view costs $1.50 USD and is not part of the free images.

Does a 360 view replace my product photos?

No. Publishing adds the model to the product's media. Your existing photos stay, and nothing is published until you choose it.
